Walsall 0 Millwall 3, League One, Game 29, 6/2/16, att: 4,843 (749)

It was wet and windy but the sun shone for us as we beat a team up the top who is fancied to do well.

We are having fun and long may it continue. After something like three years of mainly misery that light at the end of the tunnel is beginning to make me squint. We can go for this, it will be a hard graft but they are all beatable and we are in the mood to do it. In a sixteen minute spell in the second half some slick play from the Lions produced a cracking goal by Mahion Romeo on his debut which was sandwiched in between a brace by Lee Gregory. Jed Wallace was involved setting up these goals and he is showing good form after his loan contract was extended.

Walsall did have chances and hit the woodwork twice and Jordan Archer was producing his trademark double saves to keep Walsall at bay.
With Mark Beevers suspended Sid Nelson started this game which is his first for a while and he did not disappoint as he got stuck in, we defended stoutly and it stopped Walsall from attempting to claim top spot and it also made sure we retained our play-off spot. Our last five games have produced 13 points which is title winning form but there is a gap to close of nine points to catch Walsall in second spot and a thirteen point gap to catch Burton Albion in top spot. It should be interesting and it starts again at Rochdale next Saturday which is annoying because I fancied a Tuesday night game to keep the momentum going.
